The Wanted: 'Our third album was rubbish so we just scrapped it'

'Glad You Came' hitmakers The Wanted have revealed that the album their record label pushed them to release as their third full-length offering was so bad they refused.

During a new interview with Key 103's Breakfast Show, the lads confessed that it was put together very quickly and they really didn't like it so decided to just dump it and work on a new collection of songs:

"We didn't have one out last year because it was rubbish. We cobbled together a third album but because we were away so much we literally had no time. Then the record label wanted it out there because that's where they make most of their money but we were just like, 'It's rubbish, we don't like it' - we didn't want to put something out that was just for the sake of putting it out."

Singer Max George added that it didn't please their label or managers, but they wanted to retain their integrity so stuck to their guns: "So after a few arguments, we agreed for the next few months we'd be getting economy flights and all of that sort of stuff so we were cutting back. But that was fine. We are really happy with what we've got now."
