Fun. on new album: 'We work fast and spontaneously, but there are hints of a game plan!'

'We Are Young' hitmakers Fun. have revealed that they've started mulling over plans for a new album, but don't want to spend a long period of time working on it.

Speaking to Billboard.com about the follow up offering to 2012's 'Some Nights', the trio explained that an album shouldn't take years to finish as they like to capture a real moment rather than slave away on creating something with an agenda behind it:

"There's, like, hints of a game plan. The way we work is pretty spontaneous and pretty quick. 'Some Nights' was written and recorded in a two-month time period, and I think that's one of the elements that made it successful as an album. It should be a documentation of a band in a moment, not a giant, three-year process."

Member Jack Antonoff added: "So the next album will be the same thing. I assume some time at the beginning of next year we'd like to be in the studio, but that all depends on when the feeling hits and when we have a concept that's worthy. Until we have the parameters of what the album really is it's hard to hone in on them and work specifically on it, and we're not there yet."

Meanwhile, fun. will perform at the White House tomorrow to celebrate Independence Day in America and will also livestream the set here www.whitehouse.gov/live.
