Singer Shane Filan, previously of Westlife fame, has revealed that his new debut solo single will be released on August 25 via Capitol Records.

The track, titled 'Everything To Me', is "very personal" and Filan issued a statement about the offering, in which he described himself as excited to be making new music: "I am incredibly excited to have joined Capitol Records, and being back in the studio in London and Nashville recording new songs has been amazing."

"Working on solo material is something I had always dreamed of doing, and I'm incredibly happy with the results. 'Everything To Me' is a very personal song to me lyrically; it is such an upbeat and optimistic record, perfect for the summer. I can't wait for people to hear it!"

Filan co-wrote the single with the help of songwriter Nick Atkinson, who has previously worked with Gabrielle Aplin.
