Music stars react to Andy Murray's Wimbledon win

A host of music stars took to Twitter after Andy Murray's Wimbledon victory yesterday (July 7) to praise the sportsman.

The Scottish tennis player became the first Briton to win the men's single category at the iconic event since Fred Perry in 1936 as he beat world No.1 Novak Djokovic.

It caused near-hysteria on some social networking websites and a number of famous music stars got in on the action too.

Victoria Beckham, who was there in person, posted a photo from match along with the text: "Congratulations to @andy_murray and his family. Wonderful day at #wimbledon!! So proud to be British! X."

Little Mix meanwhile said: "Massive congrats @andy_murray n his team! Brilliant game :D proud moment for Britain xxjadexx."

Professor Green commented: "Brilliant bit of tennis Andy Murray!"

Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash meanwhile made a boob on Twitter by mixing up Murray's nationality, originally tweeting: "Congratulations to @Andy_Murray on his 1st Wimbledon title. That's huge for him. & England. Bravo! iiii]; )'."

He later added: "Ok, Great Britain. Since @andy_murray is Scottish."
