Carly Rae Jepsen endured a tough time as she tried her hand at baseball on Sunday (July 14).

The pop princess was taking part in the Tampa Bay Rays' MLB game against the Houston Astros in Florida and she was asked to try making the first pitch.

However, she made a whimsical effort and meekly threw the ball into the ground instead of chucking it at the batsman.

The 'Call Me Maybe' star even managed to hit a photographer's camera which was lying on ground.

Taking to Twitter after the event, Jepsen said: "So apparently I made ESPN with my fail of a pitch. Lol - Daddy must be so proud."

She also tweeted a picture of a text message conversation with her brother Colin, who "couldn't stop laughing" at footage of the throw.
