'X Factor' singer Lucy Spraggan: 'I refused to do anything I didn't want to and now I'm signed'

Singer-songwriter Lucy Spraggan has revealed that she stuck to her guns during her stint on 'The X Factor' and didn't conform to the show's demands.

Speaking to Yahoo! OMG, the rising star explained that she refused to change her sound and style during her time on the show, but luckily it paid off for her as she is now signed:

"I went on it [The X Factor] and refused to do anything I didn’t want to - now I’m signed to Columbia records and have my debut single coming out.”

Despite her own feelings towards the show, Spraggan added that she thinks the programme has value where the music industry is concerned: "I still think it’s good. Go on it if you have something new to give people."

“Some people say it’s ruining the music industry. I just see it as another way to get into the music industry. It’s pretty do-eat-dog anyway, if people say that they love music more than anything in the world and would do anything to get their dream but then say they would never go on it's kinda ridiculous.”
