Glee's Lea Michele "deeply grateful for support" after Cory Monteith death

Lea Michele has revealed her gratitude towards well-wishers following the death of boyfriend and Glee co-star Cory Monteith.

The 31-year-old actor died on Saturday (July 13) in a hotel room in Vancouver, Canada.

Coroners confirmed on Tuesday (July 16) that Monteith, who played the role of Finn Hudson in the popular TV series, died of a "mixed drug toxicity, involving heroin and alcohol".

In a new statement released by her spokesperson following the autopsy results, Michele said that she has been mourning with Monteith's family in the wake of his untimely death. They said:

"Lea is deeply grateful for all the love and support she's received from family, friends and fans. Since Cory's passing, Lea has been grieving alongside his family and making appropriate arrangements with them.

"They are supporting each other as they endure this profound loss together. We continue to ask the media to respect the privacy of Lea and Cory's family."
