Cory Monteith's friend and roommate pays tribute: 'He loved his friends unconditionally'

Justin Neill, the former roommate and close friend of Cory Monteith, has paid tribute to the 'Glee' star after he was found dead over the weekend.

31-year-old Monteith passed away at the hands of an alcohol and heroin overdose and Neill told Us Weekly that the tragic news was a horrendous shock that leaves so many people with a hole in their hearts:

"Cory was a wonderful person and a truly great friend. He was incredibly generous and always wanted his friends to share and experience his passions and interests."

"Snowboarding trips to Mammoth or Big Bear, traveling around Australia...these are experiences that I shared with Cory and will never forget," Neill said. "He loved his friends unconditionally and will forever be in our hearts."

Neill also took to his Twitter page on July 14 and shared a personal snapshot of an evening he spent with Monteith (shown above left), adding: "cmont, Glad we got to spend so many awesome times together. Luv u dawg! #brothafromanothermother."
