Lady Gaga's former best friend to reveal extent of her drug use in tell-all book

Brendan Jay Sullivan, who was once a close friend of modern pop icon Lady Gaga, has written a revealing book in which he opens up about the superstar's drug use and debauched behaviour before her rise to fame.

The publication has been titled, 'Rivington Was Ours: Lady Gaga, The Lower East Side and the Prime of Our Live', and Radar Online shared a few excerpts from it that refer to the 'Born This Way' hitmaker's supposed passion for cocaine: "I used to do bags and bags of it. Mostly when I was getting ready to go out, while I was putting on my makeup. I’d get a delivery and then put on some Bowie and treat myself in the mirror. But I only ever did it alone. That was my one rule."

Another quote from the book sees Sullivan talk about how Gaga's friends from the prestigious New York University would purchase copious amounts of the drug for her to use: "They would buy bags and bags of cocaine. I’d be out with my friends and you’d catch one of them on the phone with their dads, pretending they needed the money to eat or to buy books or something, and they’d hang up and go to the ATM and take out more money to party."

The book is due to be released on August 27 and the MailOnline reports that a representative for Gaga has been contacted regarding Sullivan's tales, but is yet to respond.
