Gender-reversed 'Blurred Lines' video continues to gain hits

A parody of Robin Thicke's 'Blurred Lines' video that swaps genders is proving to be an online hit.

The US singer's promo clip has achieved huge attention since its release earlier this year, with two versions created.

An unrated clip sees three women strut around topless, whilst the edited version features the ladies with clothes on. It drew criticism on the grounds that it apparently objectifies women.

A parody video by Seattle troupe Mod Carousel, however, is attracting hundreds of thousands of hits on YouTube after it swapped the strutting women for men.

Their blurb on the video reads: "It's our opinion that most attempts to show female objectification in the media by swapping the genders serve more to ridicule the male body than to highlight the extent to which women get objectified and do everyone a disservice. We made this video specifically to show a spectrum of sexuality as well as present both women and men in a positive light, one where objectifying men is more than alright and where women can be strong and sexy without negative repercussions."
