Boston Police Foundation thanks the Osbournes for protesting Rolling Stone cover

The Rolling Stone magazine recently angered people around the globe by putting the Boston marathon bomber on its front cover, but the Osbourne family took a stand and urged people to boycott it.

An image of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was selected for the iconic front page after he planted bombs at the site of the 2013 Boston Marathon, which subsequently killed and injured innocent people. Jack Osbourne, along with his sister Kelly and mother Sharon, slammed the magazine for 'glamourising' a killer and asked the Rolling Stone to donate profits to the victims at the very least.

The Boston Police Foundation sent a public tweet to Kelly Osbourne this afternoon, thanking her for standing up to such a huge magazine that has so much respect in the music industry: "@KellyOsbourne Thanks to you and Jack for asking Rolling Stone to donate their Aug profits! Boston Police now need years of PTSD programming."

Jack Osbourne spoke about the cover, telling his fans: "Innocent people have been killed or injured by the alleged actions of this man. There is no justification for awarding him a cover spot traditionally reserved for entertainment icons. It is this kind of action that encourages other sick individuals to act out in hopes of earning notoriety or martyrdom for their cause."
