Producer says Miley Cyrus's 'We Can't Stop' was originally for Rihanna

Mike Williams has confessed that 'We Can't Stop', which Miley Cyrus released as her comeback single, was originally intended for Rihanna although it was never given to her.

The producer told Life + Times that it was written with the Bajan beauty in mind, but ended up going to the former Disney starlet who did a fantastic job with it:

"Yeah it was an idea for Rihanna. I did the track with Rihanna in mind, but I think it was a better fit for Miley. Rihanna never heard it though. She heard 'Pour It Up' and she just did 'Pour It Up'.”

After the song was released by Cyrus, she broke the VEVO record for the most hits in 24 hours although her figure has now been blown out of the water by One Direction with their video for 'Best Song Ever'.

Cyrus, meanwhile, has been campaigning for her fans to get her to 13 million followers on Twitter and she is approaching the target as at the moment (July 29) she has 12.92 million.
