Songstress Solange Knowles has revealed that despite suffering setbacks this year, she plans to release a brand new record at some point in 2014.

The 'Losing You' beauty recently shocked fans after cancelling all of her scheduled festival appearances, but explained to Billboard.com that she's working to a plan so hopefully everything will remain on schedule and there won't have to be any changes:

"I'm actually trying to give myself a deadline this time around. One of the pros of being independent is having that space and time. But it's also a major con when you don't set aside a deadline and keep going. When you have a goal in mind you definitely stay motivated."

Knowles added that it's important to her not to keep her followers waiting for new material longer than she needs to: "I'm trying to stay motivated because I know it took four years before my last record came out! That is not happening – it's gonna come out next year.”
