Daft Punk to make rare TV appearance

Elusive French dance duo Daft Punk are set to make a rare television appearance.

The ‘Get Lucky’ hitmakers will feature on Stephen Colbert's late-night talkshow The Colbert Report on August 6.

Stephen Colbert confirmed the news on Twitter by stating: “Colbchella '013 kicks off Tues 8/6 with Daft Punk! So now you only have to stay up until 11:30pm EST to get lucky.”

The men behind the robot masks, Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, have made only one public appearance since the release of their latest album ‘Random Access Memories’ when they turned up to the Monaco Grand Prix back in May.

Rumours about the band’s plan to visit The Colbert Report began when the show's host made a surprise appearance on Jimmy Fallon's NBC show last week where he danced to Daft Punk's track 'Get Lucky' with no explanation.

It is currently unclear whether the band will perform or be interviewed.
