Lady Gaga's father on restaurant trouble: 'We'll be here regardless of your efforts to destroy us'

Joe Germanotta (pictured left), Lady Gaga's father and owner of the Joanne Trattoria in New York City, has hit out at the area's health inspectors for targeting him without real reason and victimising him.

In a Twitter rant last night (August 6), he slammed the New York DOH and told his followers that he's furious over the situation because the eatery recently received an 'A' rating in cleanliness:

"NY DOH here again. Artem Zoubtov, DOH inspector came in tonight, 4xs in 2 months. I must be the only restaurant in NYC. I am sure the press will pick this up. This is a tragedy. We serve tourists and neighbors in NYC and fear the city we love. We spend our savings to follow dreams."

Germanotta then addressed his tweets to Mayor Bloomberg, adding: "The city steps on restaurants to pay bills. My fellow restaurants on Columbus Ave are suffering too. We will be here regardless of your efforts to destroy us."

Shortly after the establishment opened, it received its first review although the content of which was less than desirable. The New York Post's food critic, Steve Cuzzo, wrote: "Clueless busboys wandered the floor, performing no other function than to pour tap water into sparkling. Grilled calamari with bitter greens and radicchio were the worst I’ve had in a lifetime of squid-mongering, the salad unseasoned and the calamari like leather. Unspeakably fatty veal osso bucco was $38."
