Little Mix star Perrie Edwards has spoken about the tattoo her boyfriend Zayn Malik had inked in honour of her.

The One Direction man turned heads earlier this year after appearing to get a tattoo on his arm of what looked like the 'Wings' singer.

Malik's tattooist later confirmed that the female character was indeed based on the singer's girlfriend Edwards.

Speaking to Yahoo's OMG, Edwards said that the gesture was "lovely" and a sign of his affection for her. She said:

"It must be love to be honest. When I'm away from him, I guess he can just take a look at his arm and remind him of me. So it's a lovely compliment really. I love it, it's lovely."
