Katy Perry accused of stealing 'messages' themed lyric video idea

Earlier this week, pop superstar Katy Perry debuted a quirky lyric video for her new single 'Roar' and it has now been revealed that it bears some strong similarities to a dance music video released back in April.

Producer Dillon Francis has taken to his official Twitter page to tell the public that creating a lyric video based on a smart phone's text messaging program was his idea first and that she has plagiarised it. He wrote:

"Damn first @official_flo steals @diplo's "butters theme" music idea now @katyperry steals my "messages" music video idea... What the f**k? Hey @Katyperry, why? Legitimately this is so dope that @katyperry's director thought my video was good enough to rip off."

Francis then shared a link to his own video for 'Messages' (pictured below), which was uploaded to YouTube back in April, to prove his point and to show how close Perry's lyric video for 'Roar' is to it.
