Singer-songwriter Bonnie McKee has opened up about Katy Perry's forthcoming new album 'Prism' and revealed that it's diverse and incredibly "visual".

Speaking to MTV News about the impending offering, which is due to be released on October 22, she explained that it deals with a variety of themes and is an empowering collection of songs:

"It's kind of like every song is its own little movie, so this is 'Rocky' and also kind of jungle-y and cat-themed. And then each song has its own little movie and its own visual to go along with it. So I wouldn't say it's all going to be like this. Like the next one, as far as I know, is going to be a big one too. I'm really excited for the next one. [it's] really colorful and really bright."

"Katy and I are cowriters and she's a great songwriter in her own right. And I think we're a great team because we don't let the other settle. So it's really like pound for pound, it's a co-write."

The 'Teenage Dream' beauty is confirmed to perform at the 2013 MTV VMAs on August 25 and McKee confessed that she's so excited for her to take the stage and perform 'Roar': "Oh my god! I'm so excited," she said. "It's always exciting to hear lyrics that I've written being up onstage in front of all the crowd and seeing people react. It's like a really magical moment. I always cry every time."
