James Arthur pulls out of V Festival

Former 'X Factor' winner has cancelled his scheduled performance at 2013's V Festival at the last minute due to illness.

The event's organisers posted a message through its official Twitter page earlier this evening (August 16) and confirmed that he has pulled out:

"It's with regret James Arthur is unable to perform this weekend due to a severe throat infection. We wish him a speedy recovery. #VFestival."

V Festival, which is held in both Essex (Hylands Park) and Staffordshire (Weston Park) across the same weekend with rotating line-ups, will kick off tomorrow and will run until Sunday, August 18. Arthur is yet to comment on the disappointing news.

Earlier this week, producer Naughty Boy teased that Arthur's upcoming debut album is 'urban and edgy', telling 'InDemand': "It's really cool actually, it's definitely poppy but with an edge and a bit urban. One of the songs that me and Emeli [Sandé] wrote [for him] is like a big orchestral piece and it has no drums. It's a real album I think a lot of people are going to be surprised with his album."
