The Calling's Alex Band says he was abducted and beaten

The Calling singer Alex Band has claimed that he was abducted, beaten and left on a rail track.

Band said in a statement that he was taken by two men in a ven after walking from his hotel in Michigan to a mini mart in the early hours of Sunday morning (August 18).

The singer says he was beaten with a police baton before having a gun pulled on him, with Band told to give over his "Hollywood money".

His attackers then "left him for dead at a local railroad track in Lapeer", with Band suffering a "fractured lower spine, 15 stitches to his lower chin, three broken teeth, and a bruised side and stomach".

The Calling man added that he told his assailants that he was a dad-to-be, with the men then stating that they "don't kill fathers".

Band added in a statement: "I never thought my unborn child would be my saviour. I am grateful to be alive and I know that I am destined for bringing my music back to my fans."
