Dentist hopes to clone John Lennon using tooth DNA

A dentist believes he could possibly make a clone of John Lennon using DNA extracted from one of his teeth.

Canadian Michael Zuk paid £20,000 to buy one of the musician's decayed molars two years at an auction in Britain.

He has now told examiner.com that he wants to use that gnasher to create a clone of the Beatles legend, who was killed in New York in 1980. He said:

"If scientists think they can clone mammoths, then John Lennon could be next. To potentially say I had a small part in bringing back one of rock's greatest stars would be mind-blowing."

Zuk added: "I am nervous and excited at the possibility that we will be able to fully sequence John Lennon's DNA, very soon I hope. Many Beatles fans remember where they were when they heard John Lennon was shot. I hope they also live to hear the day he was given another chance."
