Justin Timberlake reckons his old group 'N Sync are better than One Direction.

The US star reunited with his 90s comrades at this year's MTV VMAs this weekend (August 25) for a special one-off performance as Timberlake collected the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard prize.

British-Irish boyband One Direction are currently leading the way in the new generation of male heartthrobs but it seems Timberlake reckons his group are better. He told the Breakfast Club:

"I have not seen them on stage, but I'd be willing to say that we're better than them. But I don't feel like I’m laying down any gauntlet. I've seen them a couple times and I like those guys. It's interesting to see this whole wave of that come back around."

Referring to the 'N Sync reunion, Timberlake meanwhile added: "It was kinda like old times, but we were moving a lot slower."
