Simon Cowell has suggested that he could return to this year's UK X Factor.

The next series of the TV talent show is due to hit screens on Saturday (August 31) with four judges - Gary Barlow, Nicole Scherzinger, Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne - due to feature.

However, the official X Factor Twitter account has been hinting towards a fifth judge being added today (August 30).

Speaking at the press launch of this year's X Factor, Simon Cowell refused to deny that he would be taking part in the series, saying:

"I wouldn't rule it out."

He added: "[X Factor] is here to stay, it feels fresh, it's revived. I feel really good about the future."

Cowell last appeared as a judge on the UK X Factor in 2010.
