X Factor's Tamera Foster admits shame over drug past

X Factor hopeful Tamera Foster has revealed her regret over previously boasting about drug use.

The singer appeared on the TV talent show's audition stages this weekend as she impressed the judges at London's Wembley Arena.

The Sunday Mirror, however, exposed tweets previously sent by Foster that spoke about taking marijuana and zoom, which adds PCP to the mix.

Speaking to the Mirror, the X Factor wannabe said that she has grown up since then and doesn't want her past to get in the way of her singing future. She said:

"I'm upset and ashamed by my actions and realise how stupid I was. I never meant to encourage or endorse the use of drugs. It's no excuse, but this was several months ago and I've done a lot of growing up since then."

Foster continued: "I really want to move on from this and focus on my passion, music, and doing well in the competition. The support I've had since my audition went out has been brilliant and I'm really overwhelmed. I don't want anything to get in the way of me achieving my dream."
