DJ White Shadow on Lady Gaga's 'ARTPOP': 'We didn't make 15 trees, we made a forest'

Lady Gaga's collaborator DJ White Shadow has confessed that just one week after the release of her 2011 smash hit album 'Born This Way', Gaga told him she knew what her next record was going to be like.

Speaking to MTV News, the DJ explained that he was given a 'heads up' about 'ARTPOP' shortly after they had finished with 'Born This Way' and that the pop icon was already sure of its concept and general musical direction:

"It was less than a week that she had hit me after 'Born This Way '... and she literally sent me [a message saying] 'The next album's called 'ARTPOP'. She had the name and the general concept for the record a week after 'Born This Way' came out."

He also teased a few details about the impending new offering, which is due to drop on November 11, describing it as a full body of work rather than a mix of strong singles and other songs:

"It's just another step on the ladder, it's another step forward. It's different, it's a different record. We didn't sit down and say 'ARTPOP has to be this'. It's like that's how she's feeling at the time. I think it's a really fun album. There's really fun stuff on there. We didn't make 15 trees, we made a forest. She's writing every single song, so they're coming from her."
