JLo confirms return to 'American Idol' as the panel is revealed

The judges for next year's new season of 'American Idol' have now been confirmed and songstress Jennifer Lopez will make her return to the panel.

While she initially admitted to feeling 'unsure' about signing up for another series, JLo will reprise her role and tweeted this afternoon (September 30): "#IDOL2014TheRemix... see ya soon."

Keith Urban will continue on with his position as a judge, but the new addition is Harry Connick Jr (pictured below) who has previously appeared on the popular TV vocal talent show to give contestants advice. Connick Jr said in a statement:

"I have always been a huge fan of 'American Idol' and really enjoyed my time as a mentor on the show. And I am honored that they've asked me to be a judge this season. As an entertainer, I am truly excited to bring my perspective to 'American Idol', and to help emerging performers find their way."

Randy Jackson, meanwhile, will return as a mentor to replace Jimmy Iovine and explained that he's excited about the show: "Surprise, surprise! I am so happy to be back as part of this amazing show that started it all... The original talent show is back with a vengeance and ready to discover the best talent in America."
