Anna Kendrick's 'Pitch Perfect' cups song gets UK single release date

Actress Anna Kendrick has confirmed plans to release her 'Cups (When I'm Gone)' song, which was recorded for the feature film 'Pitch Perfect'.

The video of her performing the offering, which shows her tapping and moving cups around, has attracted over 52 million hits on YouTube and will now be released independently as a single in the UK after reaching the Top 10 in the U.S.

'Cups' will drop on October 28 and it has already shifted an impressive 46,000 copies in the UK. In America, it has sold over 2 million copies.

Kendrick recently spoke to Vulture about the overwhelming success of 'Cups' and explained that she can't believe how popular it is: "I am bewildered. I don't even know what to say about it. The weirdest thing to me is that it's out-positioned artists who are out there promoting their singles, as they should be - they're musicians! And I've been making movies."

"It's bizarre to me that I'm off doing something else, and it's happening on its own. It's so cool. But it is absolutely bewildering."
