The 1975 head for No.1 with their debut album

Avenged Sevenfold's albums chart reign may be short lived as today's (September 4) midweek update has shown that Manchester-based The 1975 have debuted at No.1 with their self-titled debut offering.

The Official Charts Company has confirmed that The 1975 (pictured left and below) are currently outselling their closest competitor, which is Nine Inch Nails with 'Hesitation Marks' at No.2, by 2 copies to 1 at this midway point and Avenged Sevenfold's 'Hail To The King' has dropped 8 positions to No.9.

Rizzle Kicks have made an appearance at No.3 with their new cut, 'Roaring 20s', Ariana Grande's 'Yours Truly' has made a respectable entry at No.6, and 'Sequel To The Prequel' from Babyshambles is at No.8.

Meanwhile, UB40 are back in the Top 40 with 'Getting Over The Storm' at No.19, Lana Del Rey's 'Born To Die' is at No.40, and John Legend's 'Love In The Future' has debuted at No.23.
