Jared Leto haunted by memory of roommate who had AIDS while filming new movie

30 Seconds To Mars hitmaker Jared Leto has revealed that he once lived with a man who was dying of AIDS and the memory came back to haunt him while shooting his new movie, 'The Dallas Buyers Club'.

In this new film, which recently premiered at the Toronto Film Festival, the star portrays a transvestite character who contracts the HIV virus and then develops AIDS, and he explained to E! News that it was shocking to remember this guy who was once his roommate suffering from the same disease and coping so well:

"I rented a room in a three-bedroom apartment and one of the rooms was rented by a man who was dying (of AIDS)... I was in the middle of the film and it (the memory) hit me."

"I couldn't believe I had this experience with this man who was incredibly gentle. It was actually in the first week of filming that I recalled this and it really affected me in a deep way...He was a wonderful person."
