Union J have dismissed speculation that George Shelley recently bedded Selena Gomez.

Talk of the pop pair getting together emerged after the US star filmed a short video asking the Brit out on a date.

Union J supported Gomez in Portugal recently and it was claimed in the press that Shelley and the 'Come & Get It' lady hooked up.

Speaking to the Metro, however, bandmate JJ Hamblett said:

"They are just friends. It's not our place to discuss but they are friends and, obviously, George will say what he wants to say about the situation."
