SNL star gives advice to Miley Cyrus ahead of hosting role: 'Don't try too hard to be funny'

'We Can't Stop' sensation Miley Cyrus is set to both host and perform on 'Saturday Night Live' early next month, and one of the show's cast has given her some advice for the guest appearance.

Molly Shannon (pictured below), an SNL alum, explained that the best guest hosts are the ones that throw themselves into the comedy of the programme and don't take it too seriously:

"I would say the best hosts…are the ones that just want to have fun, they want to have fun and really work with the cast."

"I think that ones that aren't as good are the ones who come with an agenda and try so hard to prove they're funny. Those usually don't work out as well or if they bring in their own writers. The writers at the show never like that."

Cyrus will be on the show on October 5 and this won't be her first time as back in 2011 she played teen sensation Justin Bieber in an entertaining skit (pictured below).
