Miley Cyrus wants 'Bangerz' to have same legacy as Michael Jackson's 'Bad'

Miley Cyrus says she wants her new album to have the same enduring appeal as Michael Jackson's records.

The singer is due to unleash her new studio effort 'Bangerz' on October 7 in the UK and she told Billboard that she wants the record to have a long-lasting legacy.

Cyrus cited the likes of Michael Jackson's seminal 1987 classic 'Bad' as an album which still sounds fresh today - and she wants to replicate it. The 'Wrecking Ball' star said:

"It's coming out soon so right now I'm listening to it 20,000 times to make sure it's perfect. I have to make sure every detail is perfect. There are albums that people are still listening to, like Michael Jackson's 'Bad', because it's so f*****g dope. I want people to listen to my album like that."

Cyrus meanwhile recently revealed a desire to travel into space, saying in reference to travel company Virgin Galactic:

"I’ve always dreamed of going into space. I'm going to go at some point."
