Lostprophets announce split following Ian Watkins' child sex charges

Welsh rockers Lostprophets have confirmed that they will not be continuing on with their career together and have decided that it's best to call it quits as a band.

The 'Last Train Home' group suffered a shocking blow last year when frontman Ian Watkins was arrested for a total of 23 sexual offences, which involve children and also two counts of raping a baby.

They issued a message to their fans via Facebook earlier today (October 1) and announced that they can't go on as Lostprophets after everything that has been happening with Watkins and his trial:

"After nearly a year of coming to terms with our heartache, we finally feel ready to announce publicly what we have thought privately for some time. We can no longer continue making or performing music as Lostprophets."

"Your love and support over the past 15 years has been tremendous, and we'll be forever grateful for all you've given us. As we look forward to the next phase of our lives, we can only hope to be surrounded by people as devoted and inspiring as you guys have been."
