OneRepublic achieve their first No. 1 UK single with 'Counting Stars'

After spending seven weeks in the chart, ‘Counting Stars’ by OneRepublic has gone to No. 1.

The rest of the top five is made up by Jason Derulo and 2 Chainz with ‘Talk Dirty’ which has fallen two to No. 3 after two week’s at the top. Katy Perry’s ‘Roar’ is down two to No. 4 and Chase & Status featuring Moko with ‘Count On Me’ is a new entry at No. 5.

Other new entries to this week’s single chart come from Dizzee Rascal with ‘Something Really Bad’ featuring Will.i.Am, former X Factor contestant Lucy Spraggan is back in the chart with a re-recording of ‘Last Night (Beer Fear)’ at No. 18, Nelly’s ‘Get Like Me’ is in at No. 24 with guest spots from Nicki Minaj and Pharrell Williams, Fuse ODG is sitting at No. 30 with ‘Azonto’ and Two Door Cinema Club are at No. 33 with ‘Changing Of The Seasons’.

Jasmine Thompson is this week’s highest chart climber with her version of Chaka Khan’s 1984 track ‘Ain’t Nobody’. The cover version has soared 40 places to reach No. 32 with the song having been featured on television adverts for supermarket chain Sainsbury’s.
