Miley Cyrus criticised by the Stroke Association for Saturday Night Live tongue jokeMiley Cyrus has been slammed for making a joke about strokes on Saturday Night Live. The singer hosted the renowned US TV show at the weekend (October 5) and she appeared in a number of comedy skits. However, Cyrus said that she keeps sticking her tongue out because she "keeps having mini-strokes". This has prompted criticism from the Stroke Association, with their Head of Campaigns and Policy Patrick Olszowski saying: “Having a mini-stroke is no laughing matter. Around 46,000 people in the UK have a mini-stroke each year, with one in ten leading to a major stroke. “Sticking out your tongue is not a sign of having a stroke, having a stroke is a serious medical emergency. With the right care and support, as well as compassion from those around them, people can make fantastic recoveries." It's the second time in a week the singer has been criticised for apparently making fun of medical conditions, with the 'We Can't Stop' lady seemingly making a jibe about mental illness during a rift with Sinead O'Connor.
