Lorde praises Conor Maynard's cover of 'Royals'

New Zealand rising star Lorde has reached out to British singer Conor Maynard after he recently recorded a medley that included a cover of her hit single, 'Royals'.

Maynard unveiled the cover last week, which also features clips of songs by One Direction and Avicii, and after hearing it, Lorde took to her official Twitter page and revealed that she was excited by it because she took inspiration from his 'Vegas Girl' song for her own cut:

"Trippy that @ConorMaynard covered royals cause part of my chorus inspiration for it was the 'tequila/tequila/tequila' stack in vegas girl!"

Meanwhile, Lorde recently spoke out about her new found fame and confessed that she can't see herself as being a celebrity as she doesn't seem like other music stars who are enjoying success:

"It's hard for me to think about it, because those people are huge stars, but I don't think of myself as such. Like, I know for fact that my hotel room is super messy, and I'm just a disgusting person in general. I'm not like 'Oooh, look at me!' You feel like those people are godlike beings, not the case with this cat."
