'Gwen Stefani was originally meant for Miley Cyrus's duet with Britney' says producer

Sean Garrett, Miley Cyrus's producer, has revealed that Britney Spears was never meant to appear on 'SMS' and instead they had originally discussed getting another music star on board.

The track features on Cyrus's new studio album 'Bangerz' and Garrett told MTV News that they wanted No Doubt frontwoman Gwen Stefani for the cut, but it didn't end up working out:

"The first name that we tossed around was Gwen Stefani. We were talking about Gwen because you know Gwen got that edge too, but that's how God works. We were throwing around those ideas."

Earlier this month, Cyrus praised Spears and revealed that she has looked up to her since she was a child: "She's like an icon in that way and so I wanted to bring her back to that, I just kept telling her, 'Britney you don't really realise actually how dope [you are]. People tell me I represent their childhood, for me you represent my entire childhood, like you were the soundtrack to my life'."

'Bangerz' went straight in at No.1 on the UK albums chart last night (October 13) and her latest single, 'Wrecking Ball', scored a No.1 as well, giving her double chart victory
