Lawson's Joel Peat on horrific crash: 'I almost died after my car rolled over two lanes of traffic'

23-year-old Lawson guitarist Joel Peat has confessed that he's "f**king lucky" to be alive after experiencing an absolutely horrific car accident.

During a new interview with Guilty Pleasures, Peat confessed that his near death experience came on a trip where he was looking at potential universities to study at:

"There was a blow out and the car [a Ford Mondeo] rolled. We were in the fast lane and it swerved backward and we rolled over two lanes of traffic. It was on a motorway and literally rolled over two lanes of traffic. I was s***ting myself. I can remember you could see the oncoming traffic slamming their brakes on. We were f***ing lucky. It was all coming towards us."

The star joked that once he realised he was unharmed, he went to look for his iPod in the wreckage:

"I woke up sat on the window, so obviously in a daze I’d unbuckled myself and climbed out the car. I went looking for my iPod as it had shot out and smashed the back window. I found it and it was working fine – Apple and Ford work well."
