X Factor hopeful Abi Alton has confirmed that she is out of hospital after a scare on set last night (October 20).

Pictures emerged of the singer being taken out of the show's London studio on a stretcher by a paramedic after reportedly falling down some stairs.

However, she took to Twitter to announce that she has suffered "no serious damage" as a result of the apparent fall. Alton said:

"Out of hospital and thankfully there is no serious damage. Thanks for your lovely messages, im sure will be right as rain in no time xxx."

Explaining Alton's absence from the Xtra Factor, host Caroline Flack said last night on air: "She has actually hurt her back so she has gone to have her back checked. She is absolutely fine. I think she’s going to be ok."

The singer suffered a scare of a different kind on the results show after scraping through the next round following a cover of Kylie Minogue's 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head' that left the judges less than impressed.

Fellow X Factor wannabe SeSe Foster meanwhile was also taken to hospital on Saturday (October 19), but she later said that she suffered an anxiety attack and not a problem relating to her pregnancy.
