Nile Rodgers and Chic have been confirmed to appear on the UK X Factor.

The legendary disco group will play the TV talent show on November 2 with a set containing a reported three songs.

Tweeting about the gig, Rodgers said:

"We get to play CHIC Org songs back-to-back Nov 2 on @TheXFactor - Funk/Disco/Soul to the max."

The X Factor news is another boost for Rodgers this year, who has enjoyed success with Daft Punk's monster hit 'Get Lucky' and Avicii and Adam Lambert's 'Lay Me Down'.

Chic are also up for nomination for entry into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame next year alongside the likes of Nirvana and Kiss.

'Nile Rodgers Presents The Chic Organisation: Up All Night: The Greatest Hits Disco Edition' meanwhile will be released on October 28.
