One Direction and Eminem were among the winners at this year's MTV EMAs.

The music company held their annual European awards bash last night (November 10) in Amsterdam and a number of big names were honoured.

One Direction won the Best Pop and Best UK & Ireland Act gongs, whilst their singer Harry Styles went home with the Best Look prize.

Eminem bagged the coveted Global Icon Award as well as Best-Hip-Hop, whilst Miley Cyrus reigned supreme in the Best Video and Best United States Act categories.

Katy Perry meanwhile topped the Best Female section and Bruno Mars' 'Locked Out of Heaven' won the Best Song award.

Justin Bieber landed the hotly-contested Best Male honour along with the Best Canadian Act award.

A number of the award winners performed on the night, including Eminem, Miley Cyrus and Katy Perry.

It was announced meanwhile before the show that next year's MTV EMAs will be held at Glasgow's new Hydro venue.
