One Direction and Little Mix songs get classical makeover

Tracks by One Direction and Little Mix have been given a classical twist for Children In Need.

The BBC Philharmonic Orchestra and The Halle teamed up with BBC Radio 3 to give One Direction's 'What Makes You Beautiful' and Little Mix's 'Wings' a string makeover.

The former has been interspersed with Verdi's 'Anvil Chorus' and comes with a male singing section.

'Wings' meanwhile is mashed up with Wagner's iconic 'Ride of the Valkyries'.

Both efforts are part of Children In Need's Ultimate Musical Battle project, with a boys vs girls theme running through the two classical pieces.

The two songs will be available to buy soon, with the main Children In Need event taking place tonight (November 15).

One Direction are to host a segment of the show, whilst a host of other music acts will appear, such as the newly formed McBusted.
