Azealia Banks has hit out at female artists in the music industry whom brag about taking drugs.

The New York rapper’s outburst took place on Twitter. She began her stream of criticisms by tweeting:

“But…. Who told her she was an artist anyway?”

Less than five minutes later she followed up with the comment: “Being fashionable and on drugs doesn’t mean you’re an artist. It means you’re fashionable and on drugs.”

Following these statements Banks’ Twitter followers began speculating about who the ‘212’ rap star was talking about.

However, 22-year-old Azealia refused to be drawn into naming names as she later wrote:

“Half the time I’m not even talking about anyone y’all know and y’all get SOOO hyped and start instigating shit.”

Rihanna, Miley Cyrus and Lady Gaga have all recently made their use of marijuana public knowledge.
