Simon Le Bon on Robin Thicke's 'Blurred Lines' video: 'It was done in the wrong way'

Duran Duran frontman Simon Le Bon has weighed in on Robin Thicke's provocative and controversial music video for 'Blurred Lines' and admitted that he thinks it is a mistake.

Speaking to the Daily Telegraph newspaper, the star explained that he understands what Thicke wanted to say with the song, but was disappointed by the 'disempowered women' that parade around in the music video:

"The problem with Robin Thicke's video is it disempowered all the women in it. I think Robin made a bit of a mistake, because he's not a bad guy, he's not a misogynist, but he's getting off on the chicks in the video and all that stuff."

''The theme of the song is, 'You say you don't want it, but you do', and that's, actually, quite scary if you carry it through, so I felt that that was a mistake."

Back in September, Thicke opened up about where he found the inspiration for the music video and explained that it was influenced by fashion editorials: "I've done some topless photo shoots before but never completely nude. [The magazine shoot] was very sexy and I like that. At first I thought, 'Okay, let's just do topless'...but, again, my wife and her friends were like, 'No way...go all the way'."
