Calvin Harris and Alesso's 'Under Control' on course for UK No.1

Calvin Harris and Alesso's 'Under Control' has hit No.1 in the UK singles chart.

The track, which also features Hurts' Theo Hutchcraft, is sitting pretty at the top spot in the Official Charts Company's midweek update today (November 27).

'Under Control' is a new entry and is scheduled to feature on Alesso's forthcoming debut album.

The song displaces Lily Allen's John Lewis Christmas track 'Somewhere We Only Know' from No.1, with the tune slipping to No.5.

McFly's 'Love Is On The Radio' is a new entry at No.2 whilst One Direction's 'Story of My Life' rises seven places to No.3.

The top five of the midweek singles chart update is completed by Gary Barlow's 'Let Me Go', which falls one place to No.4.

Incidentally, One Direction have a number of tracks in the midweek UK top 40 as a result of digital sales of songs from their new album 'Midnight Memories'.

'Don't Forget Where You Belong' is at No.10, 'You & I' at No.11, 'Strong' at No.25, 'Midnight Memories' at No.29 whilst 'Diana' has landed at No.34.

Previous single 'Best Song Ever' meanwhile charts at No.36.
