Singer Luke Friend has poured cold water over the supposed chemistry between One Direction heartthrob Niall Horan and finalist Tamera Foster by confessing that there's nothing going on between them.

When asked by EntertainmentWise if Foster and Horan are linked romantically, Friend (pictured below and left) was quick to dispel recent gossip and said: "No, I don't think so... Niall gave her some criticism to take on board."

Speaking about meeting One Direction at 'The X Factor' studios, he added: "They were wicked... they were awesome to talk to, Harry and Niall especially... [their advice was to] just basically, once you get out of here, it's crazy. Keep the hard work going."

'Story Of My Life' superstar Horan, meanwhile, recently sympathised with Foster after she forgot the lyrics to a song she was performing and told ITN: "It's a lot of pressure. It's so tough in a live show."
