Demi Lovato becomes New York Times bestseller

Demi Lovato's new book has become a New York Times bestseller.

The singer recently released Staying Strong, a collection of meditations, quotes and inspirational passages.

It has now topped the New York Times' Advice, How-To and Miscellaneous list on its first week of release.

Speaking previously about Staying Strong, Lovato said that she hoped the book can connect her fans through its inspirational message. She said:

"It can bring together people from all over the world – different cultures from different backgrounds. Everyone can relate in some shape or form because we're all human beings with heart and soul."

As previously reported, Lovato admitted that she is somewhat nervous about the prospect of following the book with a potential autiobiography.

The X Factor USA judge said: "I'm nervous to share my story. But the last time I did, people were really respectful and nobody judged me. Sometimes I have to ask myself, 'How honest do I really want to be with this book?'. But I think I'm going to do it. I think I'm going to go for it."
