Metallica stream entire Antarctica gig online

Metallica have treated their fans to a stream of their recent concert in Antarctica.

The rock titans played the Argentine Antarctic Base Carlini on the South Shetland Islands on December 8 in front of prizewinners.

The show saw the quartet perform without amplification, with the audience picking up the music via headphones.

The full gig is now available to be watched on their MetallicaTV YouTube channel.

Metallica were the first recording artist to perform in Antartica, with a group of scientists called Nunatak playing the first ever music concert in Antarctica as part of the Live Earth event in 2007.

The US group meanwhile are due to headline this year's UK Sonisphere Festival at Knebworth in July.
