Justin Bieber's Believe bombs at box office

Justin Bieber's new film has failed to make an impact on the US box office.

The singer released his new movie Believe on Christmas Day but it hasn't replicated the success of his 2011 effort Never Say Never.

Billboard report that the flick will take in an estimated $4.5 million during its first five days in the US.

In contrast, Never Say Never bagged a massive $12.4 million in its first day alone.

Believe also fails in comparison to similar concert-documentary films released recently, with One Direction's This Is Us pocketing more cash.

The film's distributor Open Road Films have stated, however, that Believe is only being shown in 1,037 screens, with Never Say Never shown in 3,100.

The movie is said to examine Bieber's private life and look beyond the negative headlines which have followed the singer in 2013. Watch a trailer for Believe below:
