Beyoncé recorded 80 songs for new album

Beyoncé has revealed that she recorded 80 tracks for her latest album.

The superstar singer unleashed her new self-titled effort on December 13 without any warning or promotion.

However, some fans had been growing impatient about the length of time it had taken to release new material.

It seems that Beyoncé had good reason to spend a large chunk of time of record as she has revealed that she cut to tape around 80 numbers for the album.

She said in a new video: "When I started picking the songs that I gravitated towards, because I recorded about 80 songs, it was the songs that were more effortless to me that stuck around."

It has been revealed meanwhile that 'Beyoncé' was pirated 240,000 times online in its first week.

Her whole entire back catalogue has been shared over two million times on file sharing websites in 2013.
